• Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah), is a traditional Andean crop and cultivated mainly in Peru. Quinua means "mother grain" in the Inca language. This ancient seed is a versatile, complete protein whole grain.
• Grown in the mountains of Andes ( Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia and Chile), it is an important grain for the Andean people, it has now become the wonder grain, consumed across the world, for the valuable mineral and vitamin content, more than any comparable grain.
• Sol Red quinoa is delicious and healthy, high in protein, dietary fiber, great source of amino acids, and with a rich earthy flavor.
• Gluten free, cholesterol free, free of any chemicals or preservatives
• We recommend red quinoa to use in cold salads and it holds its shape better than cooking.
• Preparation - Rinse the quinoa well to remove saponin coating which makes it taste bitter or soapy. Drain excess water and transfer to cooking pot. Add double quantity of water with pinch of salt in it. Bring it to boil, cover the pan and then simmer it for 15mins on medium low flame. When water is absorbed and grain is fluffy
